Key Responsibilities
As the Event Specialist – Partnerships & Communications Consultant, you will be responsible for:
- Designing an annual events calendar and public engagement strategy aligned with UNICEF’s innovation goals.
- Coordinating high-level campaigns, advocacy initiatives, and events that spotlight UNICEF’s work.
- Producing compelling content for both digital and physical platforms to engage stakeholders and the public.
- Managing UNICEF’s digital presence across websites and social media, ensuring brand consistency.
- Monitoring global media coverage related to children’s issues and providing actionable insights.
- Handling event logistics and administration to ensure flawless execution.
- Supporting strategic communication and strengthening partnerships across public, private, and academic sectors.
This role also includes short-term travel to Stockholm for six nights, with all arrangements managed by the consultant.
Required Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- An advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in Design, Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
(A first degree plus 2 additional years of experience is also acceptable.) - At least 5 years of professional experience in communications, content development, or event management with international organizations or media.
- Strong skills in storytelling, content creation, and strategic communication.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex events, campaigns, and media relations.
- Fluency in English. Knowledge of another UN language (French, Arabic, Spanish, etc.) is an asset.
Experience working in development, humanitarian, or fragile contexts is highly desirable.
