UNDP Project Associate Job in Majuro, Marshall Islands | Apply by 20 Sept 2025

Are you passionate about climate change resilience, sustainable development, and making a real difference in vulnerable communities? The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is offering an exciting opportunity for a Project Associate (NPSA-7) to support the Addressing Climate Vulnerability in the Water Sector (ACWA) project in the Marshall Islands.

This position is based in Majuro, the capital city, and is central to building a future where communities can withstand and adapt to the growing impacts of climate change on water resources.

🌊 About the ACWA Project

The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) is one of the most climate-vulnerable nations in the world. Spread across 24 inhabited atolls and islands, with most land barely 2 meters above sea level, the country faces serious challenges in ensuring safe and sustainable water supplies.

The ACWA project, implemented by the Government of RMI with support from UNDP and co-financing from the Green Climate Fund (GCF), addresses these urgent challenges. The project focuses on three key areas:

  1. Water Security – Expanding rainwater harvesting and storage systems to benefit rural communities across the outer islands and atolls.
  2. Water Resilience – Protecting groundwater resources from contamination caused by seawater intrusion and wave overtopping.
  3. Water Governance – Strengthening the capacity of institutions to manage water resources effectively and integrate climate risk into national planning.

By joining this project, you will play an essential role in protecting the livelihoods of thousands of people, ensuring safe drinking water, and supporting long-term climate resilience in the Pacific.
