This position is located within the Office of Internal Oversight (OIO), which conducts independent investigations into misconduct such as fraud, corruption, harassment, abuse of authority, sexual exploitation and abuse, and other violations of organizational rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
The Investigations Support Officer will support the OIO’s work by delivering a range of operational, analytical, and administrative tasks, including:
- Compiling and analyzing data on investigative activities, including caseloads and performance metrics.
- Preparing, reviewing, and compiling briefing materials, talking points, and correspondence.
- Monitoring ongoing case activities, tracking timelines and key performance indicators, and providing regular updates to the Deputy Director.
- Supporting editorial quality control for investigation reports and issuing investigative products to relevant offices.
- Liaising between the Investigations Division and IOM departments, field offices, donors, and oversight bodies.
- Organizing and participating in case coordination meetings, including agenda preparation and tracking action points.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality and managing sensitive investigation documentation.
- Conducting research, drafting, and editing written materials to support investigative activities.

Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Master’s degree in Law, Criminal Justice, Finance, Forensic Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field with two years of relevant professional experience;
OR - Bachelor’s degree in the above fields with four years of relevant experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in internal oversight, law, criminal justice, accounting, compliance, inspections, security, or data analytics is required.
Skills and Competencies
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential information.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint, with the ability to learn new tools quickly.
- Commitment to ethical standards and impartiality.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in English (oral and written) is required.
- Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is considered an asset.
