This position plays a key role in supporting IOM’s MPRR-SSA programme, focusing on sustainable reintegration for returnees and the protection of vulnerable migrants in Mali.
Key Responsibilities
The Reintegration Officer will lead and coordinate reintegration activities, ensuring quality delivery and strategic impact. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and Coordination: Manage the implementation, budgeting, and monitoring of reintegration activities in Mali.
- Team Supervision: Oversee reintegration caseworkers, assistants, and partner organizations.
- Case Management Systems: Develop national reintegration schemes and coordination structures in collaboration with government and civil society.
- Protection Mainstreaming: Ensure vulnerable groups such as victims of trafficking and unaccompanied minors receive appropriate support.
- Capacity Building: Provide technical assistance and training to government counterparts, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Maintain data integrity, implement accountability mechanisms, and prepare quality reports.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Strengthen partnerships with national authorities, civil society, and donors to improve reintegration outcomes.
- Resource Mobilization: Contribute to developing project concepts and proposals.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Master’s degree in International Law, Development Studies, Political Science, International Relations, Social Studies, Psychology, or related fields with at least 5 years of relevant experience; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in the above fields with 7 years of relevant experience.
Experience
- Proven professional experience in voluntary return and reintegration, community reintegration, or direct assistance work.
- Experience working with UN agencies, international organizations, or international NGOs.
- Background in protection, such as child protection or counter-trafficking, is an advantage.
- Experience in project management and monitoring and evaluation is desirable.
Skills
- Strong ability to collaborate with government and private sector partners.
- Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multicultural teams.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in English and French (oral and written) is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish) is an asset.
