As an Associate Digital Security Officer, you will be part of the Bureau of Digital Business Solutions in Paris. The position focuses on incident response, security monitoring, policy implementation, and digital transformation, supporting UNESCO’s mission in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.


Key Responsibilities

As part of UNESCO’s digital security team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and managing security operations, maintaining up-to-date inventories of digital assets, and evaluating new security tools.
  • Supervising security monitoring activities and coordinating with the Security Operations Center (SOC) or managed security service providers.
  • Handling incident response, investigating cybersecurity incidents, and conducting post-incident reviews.
  • Conducting security audits, risk assessments, configuration reviews, and ensuring compliance with security policies.
  • Drafting and supporting digital security policies, staying informed on the latest security trends and threats, and providing strategic advice to relevant teams.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Required:

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in computer science, information security, IT, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience, including threat analysis and incident response, with at least 1 year of international exposure preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security (especially Microsoft Azure), application and systems security, Windows and Linux operating systems, and networking protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills. Fluency in English or French, with good knowledge of the other.

Desirable:

  • Professional cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, Network+, Azure Security Engineer).
  • Experience in multicultural or international work environments.
  • Knowledge of additional UNESCO official languages (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish).

Terms of Employment

  • Location: Paris, France
  • Contract Type: Fixed-term, 2 years (renewable)
  • Annual Salary: Approximately US$ 87,929, plus benefits such as pension, medical insurance, and family allowances (where applicable).
