Revenue Accountants at ZINWA are responsible for managing critical financial processes that ensure smooth operations across the Authority’s catchments. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop professionally while contributing to Zimbabwe’s essential water services.


🛠 Key Responsibilities

As a Revenue Accountant, your duties will include:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts and assist in producing quarterly, half-yearly, and annual financial statements.
  • Revenue Collection & Billing: Oversee billing, revenue collection, and debt management to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Statutory Compliance: Submit statutory returns, including VAT, PAYE, and NSSA, in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Audit Support: Provide necessary documentation and reconciliations to support internal and external audits.
  • Budget Management: Prepare and manage budgets at the catchment level, ensuring effective allocation and monitoring of resources.
  • Team Supervision: Mentor and supervise finance staff to ensure adherence to financial policies and promote professional growth.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and monitor financial performance.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce risks, and improve financial reporting practices.

🎓 Candidate Requirements

Ideal candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional Qualification: CA(Z), ACCA, CIMA, CIS, or registration as a student member is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years in accounting, finance, or revenue management roles. Experience in the public sector or utilities is an advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in IFRS, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Personal Attributes: High integrity, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
